Fathers Day Raffle
Our club recently held a successful Fathers Day Raffle with the generous assistance of Bunnings Mile End store.
The prizes were kindly donated by Bunnings, local businesses and members to enable two prizes to be given.
With over 800 tickets sold the winner was Hayley Chamberlain (wheel barrow filled with goodies) and second prize to Jill Karssen (bottles of wine, chocolates, and a dinner voucher for Ramsgate Hotel).
The full proceeds are being split between Lions Prostate Cancer Research and Australian Prostate Research.

Club Branch formation
Club Treasurer, Jennifer Osis has been championing the formation of a club branch of West Beach Lions and looks to have at least 6 new members to start up the club branch.
The club branch will be a day meeting group and there is enthusiasm from the potential members to create a vibrant club.

Camp Quality Caravan maintenance
West Beach Lions have formed a cooperative relationship with Camp Quality to maintain a caravan located at Wech Beach Adelaide Shores Caravan Park on an ongoing basis. In February the club had 8 members undertake an intensive cleaning and repair of the caravan.

CARA Project
Members of the West Beach Lions Club were involved in a major project at a house which has tenants who are disabled. The house is owned and managed by CARA (Community Accomodation and Respite Agency).
The project was to carry out a major refurbishment on the front garden.
This involved clearing the exsisting site, rotary hoeing, planting around 150 plants, installing a watering system and some external painting.

Lions 100 - A glimpse into our history
In 1969, we watch the first successful moon landing.
In that same year, Australian Lion Roy Worfold completed a 20 minute documentary, commissioned by Lions Clubs International explaining Lions Clubs to the uninitiated.
